\n\t\t\t\tFinal Project Report: Imaginons Notre Agora at Paul-\u00c9mile L\u00e9ger CHSLD\t\t\t<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div>[vc_column_text css=””]<\/p>\n

Thanks to the $250,000 Gis\u00e9le Allard Fund, HVD, which is dedicated to improving the quality of life of residents living in long-term care centres (CHSLD), authorised the use of this fund to realize the project \u201cImaginons Notre Agora\u201d. This innovative project, administered by the Paul-\u00c9mile L\u00e9ger CHSLD (formerly known as Saint-Charles-Borrom\u00e9e Hospital) aimed to create a more comfortable and welcoming environment for residents.<\/p>\n

[\/vc_column_text]\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>[vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_empty_space height=”16px”][vc_column_text css=”” el_class=”mkdf-paragraph-bigger para”]<\/p>\n

Beyond improvements made to the infrastructure, the institution solicited the participation of the residents themselves. By conducting a needs assessment, the institution asked them what would most improve their daily lives. This assessment resulted in a series of projects led by residents and caregivers aimed at fostering engagement, well-being, and a sense of belonging to a community. Each project was carefully evaluated after its completion to ensure that it met the needs and expectations of participants.<\/p>\n

One of the most enduring successes is the\u00a0Project Caf\u00e9 Internet<\/strong>, which is still operating today. Open to all residents, including those living with neurocognitive disorders, the caf\u00e9 provides a welcoming space that encourages interaction and enjoyment.<\/p>\n

In 2018, the conference Ensemble… Vers un mouvement de bientraitance : conf\u00e9rence sur l’exercice et le respect des droits des r\u00e9sidents en CHSLD publics<\/i> was organized by HVD in collaboration with an expert committee, as part of the H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Rumak Fund. It brought together more than 130 participants, including residents, caregivers, members of residents\u2019 and users\u2019 committees, volunteers, staff and managers of CHSLDs, as well as representatives of community organizations. Another hundred people attended the event via webcast.<\/p>\n
