With clinical experience as a nurse and a keen interest in seniors’ care, Anne Bourbonnais chose to further contribute to their quality of life through research-guided knowledge development in nursing and long-term care facilities (CHSLDs). The aim of her projects are to provide a better understanding of the behaviors in older adults living with Alzheimer’s disease or a related condition in CHSLDs and to develop innovative approaches to intervention, so as to improve the quality of care and the well-being of these older adults as well as their loved ones. To this end, she focuses on approaches based on relationships and creating a partnership between the older person, their loved ones and the professional caregiver.
