Graduated in Psychology from the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) after completing undergraduate studies at the Université Louis-Lumière de Lyon, in France, Daniel Geneau was a neuropsychologist from 1988 to 1997 in the Sub-regional Psychogeriatric program affiliated with the La Petite Patrie CLSC where he contributed to the development of geriatric neuropsychology. He is currently a neuropsychologist consulting in many of Quebec’s CHSLDs and CLSCs and a trainer in Quebec, France as well in Switzerland. He offers training in the Ideal Approach to Persons with Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Diseases. He is also the main author of the Protocole d’examen cognitif de la personne âgée (PECPA-2r) (Cognitive Examination Protocol for the Elderly) and the Cognitive Assessment Scale for the Elderly (CASE). He is the director of SEPEC, which offers Quebec health network organizations consulting services specialized in the management of behavioral disorders of institutionalized persons living with cognitive deficits. SEPEC also provides training to nursing home staff and individuals providing home-based services in Quebec, France as well as in Switzerland.
