Benoit Racette has amassed close to 20 years of experience working for various organizations and associations, especially in the areas of health and advocacy for the rights of seniors, vulnerable or disabled individuals. He has worked with Ex aequo, Vues et Voix et Québec inclusive. In addition to co-authoring “S’engager dans une voie sans obstacle — la participation citoyenne des jeunes en situation de handicap de Montréal” (Going in a barrier-free direction – civic engagement of Montreal’s disabled youth“), he developed numerous training initiatives to support people in gaining a voice or advocating for the individual or collective rights. For example, he is currently facilitating the workshop How to advocate in a user committee or a residents’ committee, which is funded by the Hélène Rumak Fund and is offered free of charge to members of the Conseil pour la protection des malades (CPM). He is also a producer, a radio host and speaker. In addition to his experience, Benoit relies on training in communications, social communication and sociology.
