Marie-Ève Bédard has a Doctorate degree in Gerontology from the University of Sherbrooke. She is a researcher at the Centre collégial d’expertise en gérontologie du Cégep de Drummondville, an academic research advisor at Cegep Drummondville and an active member of the University of Sherbrooke’s  Research Chair on Mistreatment of older adults. Her research interests relate to user committees and residents’ committees within the public health and social service system as they pertain to abuse, bullying and the proper treatment of seniors, the social participation of seniors, advocacy, intergenerational activities and quality living environments for institutionalized seniors, including leisure. She is currently conducting several research projects, including: For healthy, safe and welcoming living environments: Identifying, implementing and assessing intergenerational initiatives (2018/04–2021/03); Planning, developing, implementing and assessing a serious game for preventing and eradicating bullying in private seniors’ residences (2018/04–2020/04); Describing and understanding the needs of residents at the Terrasses de la Fonderie for improved response (2018/04-2018/10).
