Studies in Psychology and Gerontology at the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières.
For over 30 years, Nicole Poirier has been involved with individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and their loved ones. The first time she met an individual affected by Alzheimer’s disease was in 1985, when she converted the family home into a seniors’ residence. In 1996, she founded the Maison Carpe Diem in Trois-Rivières, thanks to the support of the families and the population. Since 1999, she has served as a speaker, consultant and trainer in Quebec, France, Belgium, China, Switzerland and the Caribbean. She is the Vice-president of the French association AMA Diem and is involved in the experimental project Les Maisons de Crolles, located close to Grenoble, whose mission is to provide support to youth affected by Alzheimer’s disease or a related disease.
