Francine Cytrynbaum, MSW, has practiced social work and community outreach work specializing in intercultural and person-centred approaches. After many years working at Jewish Immigrant Aid Services as an immigration and resettlement worker, Francine joined the Elder Abuse Consultation Team of the CLSC René Cassin offering direct intervention, community outreach, training and consultation locally, provincially and internationally. She became a social work clinical supervisor at the CSSS Cavendish supervising social workers and special care counsellors working with older adults in long term care, rehabilitation hospital and home care contexts, and coordinator for several day programs for older adults with loss of autonomy. A founding member of RECAA (Respecting Elders Communities Against Abuse), Francine has supported their work as a consultant, trainer, board member and moderator. Francine currently teaches Social Work at UQAM and Special Care Counselling at Vanier College. She facilitates support groups for caregivers and offers trainings on topics related to dementia and person-centred care at the Alzheimer Society of Montreal.
